Yang Tong is a curator based in Hong Kong and Frankfurt am Main, who is passionate about bridging the gap between the general public and contemporary art through trans-disciplinary creative projects, with a particular focus on the intersection of art and technology.
Tong was born and raised in Lanzhou, a city located in northwest China along the Yellow River. Her upbringing was profoundly influenced by the local culture and the historical heritage of Dun Huang. Staring at a young age, Tong displayed a keen interest in art, often sketching portraits and still life. These early artistic endeavors nurtured her ability to observe and interpret objects, as well as develop a strong sense of visual aesthetics. During her time at the Academy of Visual Arts HKBU, Tong honed her artistic practice, and her works were recognized on an international level.
Tong embraces diversity while also encouraging individuality. At the age of 16, she began immersing herself in different lifestyles around the world, residing in countries such as Argentina, Italy, Australia and Germany. This exposure to diverse communities and cultures allowed Tong to cultivate a unique approach to understanding and engaging with her surroundings, which became the foundation of her methodology for integrating art and cultural projects.
Tong firmly believes that art is no longer a separate domain but rather an integral part of everything that surrounds us. Art has become an inherent attribute in all matters, seamlessly merging with our daily lives.
策展人楊桐現駐香港以及法蘭克福，她熱衷於透過跨學科創意項目來建立大眾與當代藝術之間的連結，特別關注藝術與科技的跨界合作。
楊桐出生並在中國西北的蘭州市長大，她的成長深受當地文化和敦煌的歷史遺產的影響。從小，楊桐展現出對文化藝術的濃厚興趣，開始了繪畫肖像和靜物的寫生。這些早期的藝術嘗試培養了她觀察和解讀事物的能力，同時也培養了她對視覺美學的敏銳感知。在香港浸會大學視覺藝術學院的學習期間，楊桐不斷磨練自己的藝術實踐，她的才華也得到了國際認可。
楊桐秉持著多元性和個性化的理念。16歲時，她開始在世界各地體驗不同的生活方式，曾在阿根廷、意大利、澳大利亞和德國等國家居住。這種對多樣人群和文化的接觸使得楊桐能夠培養出她獨特的方法來理解和融入所處的環境，這成為她整合藝術和文化項目的方法論基礎。
楊桐堅信藝術不再是一個孤立的領域，而是我們周圍一切事物的重要組成部分。藝術已經成為一種內在屬性，與我們的日常生活無縫融合。
